Kanya

Kanya hails from Fatehgad, Rajasthan. She has two sons and three daughters. She aspires to educate her children well and give them a good life. Kanya learned weaving from her brother when she was very young and hopes to teach her daughters once they finish their education. She feels empowered to balance her domestic work and rug making. In her free time, she likes to sit with her friends in the neighborhood and enjoy company and heartfelt conversations.

Kanya named her rug Kanya ka Galeecha meaning 'Kanya's carpet.' She has always enjoyed weaving rugs using maps, but when she was given the opportunity to design a carpet herself, she was overjoyed! Kanya weaver pulled inspiration from water and has represented it through her favorite shade, blue. Leheriya motifs are woven throughout this rug in union with the other designs of mountains and shakarparas. Kanya put her heart into the design of this rug, following her instincts to create something this special.

Blot stains immediately and clean with a mild soap and cold water. Blot dry with clean, absorbent towel. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture. Shedding is normal: vacuum regularly with beater bar off, and shedding will reduce over time.
