Gyarsi and her husband have been weaving for past 10 years. She has three sons, two of whom work as sculptors, while the youngest son studies in school. Her daughter was recently married. Gyarsi Devi owns two goats that she fondly calls Etali and Bhuri. She loves weaving as it gives her freedom to work from home.

While weaving this rug, Gyarsi was thinking about the designs that adorn her home in the village. "I weaved designs for the roof, then for floors, and walls. These are traditional designs that are quite prevalent in rural Indian villages," she says. The meticulousness and detail of the motifs in this creative design depicts the hard work and dedication that has gone into in weaving this rug.

Blot stains immediately and clean with a mild soap and cold water. Blot dry with clean, absorbent towel. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture. Shedding is normal: vacuum regularly with beater bar off, and shedding will reduce over time.
