Laxmi is a 37-year-old weaver hailing from Kishanpura, Rajasthan. Her parents introduced her to weaving at an early age of 15. She used to roam around in her village and learn from her neighbors every day. She has two daughters Manisha and Nirmala who go to college. Her husband is a daily wage earner, which makes her weaving their main household income. Laxmi values and sees the importance of educating her daughters and loves to sit back and talk to them about their studies. She even encourages them to aspire for a government jobs. She has also imparted the art of weaving to them. She says, "I will only marry them off once they have completed their studies."

This rug features patches and splashes of colors all around, which inspired the name Satrangi Samrat. Satrangi means 'seven colors of the rainbow.' The royal patterns from top to bottom are a depiction of royal culture, where the art and structure were the sources of celebration. The small petals of seven colors spread out in the center, and the royal symbols signify the Samrat, 'the King.'
