Product Details
Hand-knotted and designed by a skilled artisan from rural India, each element of the Kakero design carries a story. The vibrant flower motif is a tribute to the artist’s cherished memory of a wedding gift—a flower pot given by a dear friend. Though they now live in different villages, the memory of that friendship lingers, beautifully woven into the rug. The wavy, hazy patterns, known as 'leheriya,' are inspired by the fluid movements of the weavers’ hands when they are deeply in sync with the rhythm of their work. This design, reminiscent of the ocean's waves, mirrors the meditative state of the artisans as they weave, drawing on the traditional patterns of Rajasthan. Even the uneven textures and motifs, inspired by the rugged mountains, the texture of leopard skin, and the leaves that surround the artisans' villages, add character to this unique piece. The Kakero design isn’t just a rug; it’s a tapestry of stories and traditions, woven with care and dedication.

Quality Construction

In a meticulous 10-step process, crafting a single hand-knotted rug takes months to complete. With some designs boasting over one million knots, this intricate artistry and precision are upheld by a dedicated community of 50,000+ highly skilled artisans in India.

How it's made: On a loom set up with warps, an artisan ties individual knots on each warp thread, going line by line. Once a line is complete, it is locked in place with a thread of weft, before the next line of knotting begins.

Wool

Nature's answer to durability. Known for its performance-like qualities, yielding durability and strength, wool is naturally resistant to stains. We source our wool from sheep sheared ethically and humanely in India as a natural part of their health and maintenance routine. As a sustainable and renewable resource, it’s sourced from sheep that regenerate their fleece annually. Wool’s natural insulating properties and inherent stain and odor resistance make it an eco-friendly, premium choice for various applications.

Did you know: Wool fibers have a unique crimp structure that traps pockets of air, providing both insulation and breathability, making it a versatile choice for any occasion.
