Quality Construction
Handwoven rugs are crafted with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring exceptional durability and longevity. The fibers within this construction may be felted or twisted wool yarns, soft and fine viscose, synthetic yarns, or natural fibers. Handwoven rugs usually have low to medium piles and may or may not have a canvas backing. Their high-quality natural fibers and artisanal craftsmanship provide a luxurious texture and feel, making them a timeless and valuable addition to any space.
How it's made: This form of weaving is very similar to textile weaving on a handloom. The warp and weft is much thicker to create a thick fabric, the rug’s yarn is passed through in between the interlocking.
Cashmere Wool
Cashmere is collected once a year during the spring molting season - this limited harvesting period restricts the amount of cashmere available each year. This fineness of each strand contributes to the softness, warmth, and drape of cashmere products, but it also means that more fibers are required to produce a single item, increasing its rarity.
Did you know: Cashmere fibers are six times finer than strands of human hair.
